Find answers about joining IIA SA, membership fees, renewals, student membership, group membership and account access.

Who can become an IIA SA member?

IIA SA membership is available to people working in, studying towards or progressing into internal auditing and related fields. The appropriate membership class depends on your qualifications, experience and current status. Review the Membership Classes and Fees section or contact the Membership team if you are unsure.

Choose the class that most closely matches your academic qualifications, professional experience and current role. The Membership Classes and Fees section provides a summary of the available options. If more than one class appears suitable, contact the Membership team before submitting your application.

Applicants should generally have a curriculum vitae or résumé, their highest academic qualification, and an identity document or passport ready. Additional supporting information may be required for certain membership classes. Siyakhula applicants must also provide the required student and registration information.

A once-off application fee applies to new membership applications and reapplications. It does not apply to annual renewals, reinstatements or Siyakhula Student Membership. Refer to the current Membership Classes and Fees section for the applicable amount.

Annual subscription fees depend on the membership class selected. The current membership year, VAT information and applicable fees are shown in the Membership Classes and Fees section. Individuals joining after 1 December pay 50% of the applicable annual subscription fee, while the full application fee remains payable on new applications.

Yes. Group Membership is available to organisations enrolling six or more members. It provides reduced annual subscription rates based on the number of members enrolled and allows the organisation to receive one consolidated invoice. Use the Group Membership enquiry button for assistance.

Yes. Siyakhula provides free membership to eligible, unemployed, full-time or part-time students studying Internal Auditing, Accounting and Auditing, Risk Management, Governance or related courses. Students may participate for up to six years, subject to approval and annual verification of their student status. Membership benefits become available once the application has been approved.

Active members should use the official renewal service or sign in to their existing account to complete the annual renewal process. Renewal is different from a new application, and no application fee applies to an annual renewal. Contact the Membership team if you cannot access your account or renewal option.

A former member may need to reapply or request reinstatement. These routes can differ in their fees, outstanding subscriptions and effect on the original membership record. The current process is being confirmed, so please contact the Membership team before submitting a new application.

Use the Sign In option and enter the details associated with your existing IIA SA profile. If you cannot remember your password, use the password-reset option. Avoid creating a second profile, as duplicate accounts can delay membership applications and renewals.
