The OC IA qualification leads to the IIA SA Designation Internal Audit Technician: (IAT)
The IAT is a designation that denotes that the designation holder is competent in the practice of internal auditing.
All Internal Auditors entering the profession should obtain the IAT designation to be able to perform routine audit tasks, execute audit programmes, prepare work papers
and draft audit findings.
The OC IA qualification prepares professionals to operate as an Internal Auditor. Internal Auditors are expected to identify process risks and controls for a designated area within the internal audit engagement, conduct field work to prepare working papers according to International Professional Practices framework (IPPF) standards and Global standards, and adhere to professional conduct in accordance with IPPF code of conduct.
The IIA SA is the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) recognised professional body for the Internal Audit profession in South Africa. To develop the profession and enhance the credibility of Internal Auditors in the market, IIA SA has developed this qualification and taken on the role as the Assessment Quality Partner.
These IIA SA Occupational Qualifications will acknowledge that a successful candidate has attained the skills, knowledge and competencies equal to those of the highest and most prestigious, globally recognised internal audit certification.
These qualifications are confirmation to the market (the body of employers in all sectors), that the holder has attained globally recognised competencies which are based on the mastery of academic knowledge and its application in practical work situations.
