Corporate Governance & Risk Management Index
On 19 November 2013, the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa released a report on its Corporate Governance and Risk Management Index. The Index is the first of its kind and is intended to provide a baseline for the measurement of performance in these areas for the country as a whole.
The Index was based up survey questionnaires completed by Chief Audit Executives (CAEs), who are uniquely positioned to provide an objective, unbiased appraisal of the state of affairs in their organisations.
The report offers a valuable perspective on how well South Africa is performing in ensuring that organisations in all sectors of the economy are applying good governance principles and meeting their objectives in an ethical, competent and sustainable manner.
