It supports applications for a Critical Skills Work Visa by confirming that the applicant possesses skills that are considered critical for South Africa’s economic growth and development.

Who Qualified for a Critical Skill Letter?

To qualify for a Critical Skills Letter from IIA SA, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a member of the IIA SA in good standing.
  2. Work within the internal audit profession, which is listed as a critical skill under the South African Critical Skills list.
  3. Submit all required supporting documents for verification (** view required documents).

How to Apply for a Critical Skills Letter

Follow these steps to apply:

  1. Become an IIA SA Member: Ensure you have an active membership with IIA SA.
  2. ** Prepare Your Supporting Documents:
    • Detailed CV
    • Certified copies of your qualifications (SAQA accredited or recognised qualification)
    • Copy of your passport or ID
    • Proof of employment or job offer in the internal audit profession
  3. Submit Your Application: Email your application (Complete the Google Doc) and email supporting documents to (the designated email address provided by IIA SA).
  4. Pay the Application Fee: The fee is R4,800 (non-refundable). Ensure payment is made to the IIA SA account, and include proof of payment with your submission.  Once your application form is received an Invoice will be generated.
  5. Wait for Processing: Applications are processed within 21 working days after all documents are received and payment has been processed.
