Designation: Principal Certified Internal Auditor (PCIA)
This designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
The Principal Certified Internal Auditor (PCIA) is a designation that supervisory and management level internal auditors in the internal audit profession should strive to obtain. It is a South African designation recognised by SAQA and the Global IIA as unique to the South African legislative framework underpinned by the Occupational Certificate Internal Audit Manager (OC IAM) previously known as the Certificate General Internal Auditor (expired 2022) AND the CIA , a Global IIA Certification and a registered designation in South Africa.
Awarding Criteria:
For the professional designation to be awarded, the candidate:
- Must have an Occupational Certificate Internal Audit Manager (OC IAM) previously known as the Certificate General Internal Auditor, NQF Level 8 (expired 2022)
- Must have a minimum of 3(three) years internal audit experience and be a practicing internal auditor
- Must hold a Certified Internal Audit CIA designation
